Rising fuel costs = greener Americans?

Compared to March of last year, this March we drove 11 billion fewer miles!

The Energy Dept. estimates that domestic gas consumption will drop by 190,000 barrels a day!

America’s greenhouse gas emissions dropped by 9 million tons in the first quarter of 2008.

There’s a decrease in our road accidents.

But it’s not all a silver lining. Oil from deep fryers is now being stolen from fast food restaurants. Subways and bus systems are being overworked. And the people who are always hurt first, those on a limited and fixed income.
