Humpty Dumpty, a Republican tale

September 1, 2008

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.

For all you neocons out there, Gustav must be a perplexing moment for you. You must be scratching your head wondering what in the hell you have done to have incurred the wrath of God that would cause him to steal your thunder, faint though it may be, of presenting your new, 72-year old golden child. State conventions canceled. The prez and his master bowing out. Thin attendance at best.

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

  • lies about weapons of mass destruction
  • war for profit
  • the annihilation of the middle class
  • shady mortgage practices
  • rocketing oil prices

How Team Bush/McCain felt about Katrina survivors will be reinforced in the aftermath of Gustav.

9/14/2005 H.R. 2862 Vote #229 U.S. Senate Legislation & Records

To establish a congressional commission to examine the Federal, State, and local response to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Region of the United States especially in the States of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and other areas impacted in the aftermath and make immediate corrective measures to improve such responses in the future.

McCain (R-AZ), Nay

2/2/2006 S. Amdt. 2716 to S. Amdt. 2707 to H.R. 4297 U.S. Senate Legislation & Records

McCain (R-AZ), Nay

11/3/2005 S. Amdt. 2356 to S. Amdt. 1932 U.S. Senate Legislation & Records

Purpose of the bill:

To provide emergency health care and other relief for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

Did you get that? The one who has plenty of health care coverage for his cancer VOTED AGAINST HEALTH CARE RELIEF FOR KATRINA SURVIVORS.

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men

Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
